The government increased the petrol price in Pakistan on 16th September 2023. The caretaker government on Friday announced a price hike in the price of high-speed diesel and the cost of petrol on September 15. Under the revised prices issued by the Finance Division, the cost of high-speed diesel in Pakistan after the increase of Rs. 17.34 will now be Rs. 329.18 per litre; on the other hand, the petrol price in Pakistan will now be Rs. 331.38 per litre after an increase of Rs. 26.2.
On the other hand, no revision was specified in the rates of kerosene or light diesel oil. Earlier on 1st September, the cost of light diesel oil (LDO) saw an increase of Rs. 10.34, which will be Rs. 210.13. The price of kerosene oil has also been raised by Rs. 16.37 per liter, and the price will now be Rs. 233.52 per liter.
Petrol new price in Pakistan is Rs. 329.18. The diesel price in Pakistan is now Rs.331.38. This petroleum price in Pakistan will remain effective till 30 September 2023.
With immediate effect, the government declared a price hike of petroleum products on 1st September in line with commitments made to the IMF.
Besides petrol in Pakistan, the price of LPG has also increased on 1st September to Rs.40 per kg. The official price of LPG is now Rs. 240.12 per kg for August, as it was Rs. 201.15 per kg.
The caretaker government implemented the final decision regarding the increase in the petrol price and the prices of other petroleum products in Pakistan.
