A few days ago the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Housing Scheme.  In order to provide houses to homeless people, the government of Punjab PMLN has planned to build houses as a part of its national progress. She has announced the building of as many as 5 Lac low-cost houses for poor people.

In the first phase of the project, the houses would be built in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha. After the official announcement of the Mera Ghar scheme citizens can get loans of up to Rs.15 lac.

As per the first phase of the project the 5,760 houses. new houses will be built for homeless people in seven districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha.

Eligibility criteria:

As per the rules, only one person from a family can apply for this scheme with NADRA records.

Only those candidates can grab their hands on those whose income is below Rs50,000 and those living in rental properties.

Those who reside permanently in Punjab, as indicated on their CNIC are eligible to apply.

A candidate can have a plot of up to 5 Marlas in urban areas or up to 10 Marlas in rural areas within Punjab to build the house with the loan amount.

The candidate should not have a criminal record.

A candidate does not have outstanding debts to banks or financial institutions.

He must be registered with the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) with a PMT score of 60 or lower.
