Ramadan 2022 in Pakistan will start on the eve of 2nd April.
Ramadan 2022 Moon: First Ramadan in Pakistan will be on April 3, Saudi Arabia and Other Countries of the World will start the month of Ramadan on 2nd April. Fasting is one of the five mandatory pillars of Islam. Muslims keep fasts in the holy month of Ramadan and seek Allah’s blessings and forgiveness. This year the holy month of Ramadan is to begin on 2nd April in many countries around the world.
The Saudi Arabia moon gazers said that the Ramadan Moon 2022 is expected to be sighted on 1st April in the country and therefore the holy month of Ramadan will begin on the evening of 1st April while on 1st May there will Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to fall. Millions of Muslims around the world will begin the holy month of Ramadan on Saturday, 2nd April 2022. After the declaration of the concerned authorities, the holy month of Ramazan 2022 is due to begin in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Malaysia and Middle East countries.
Ramadan 2022 moon in Pakistan
On the other hand, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet at the head office in Karachi to see the Ramadan moon 2022 in Pakistan. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee headed by Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad will organize the moon sighting in Karachi to see the Ramadan moon in Pakistan.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will also receive the evidence concerning the sight of the crescent for the holy month of Ramazan 2022. This would be the first Ramadan moon in 2022 sighting under the new chairman, Moulana Azad, who was appointed by the federal government in December 2022, replacing Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
In Karachi, after the sunset, the moon will be observed for 18 minutes. A statement from the meteorological department revealed that the new moon of Ramadan, 1443 AH, will be born on crossing conjunction point at 11:24 PST on 1st April 2022, and there is a good chance of the Ramadan moon sighting on the eve of 2nd April on 29th of Shaban, 1443 AH.
If it proved accurate as the Ramadan moon is sighted in Pakistan and the 1st Ramadan will start on the evening of 2nd April (Saturday).
The Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad will officially announce that the Ramazan 2022moon sighting in Pakistan and the 1st Ramadan ul Mubarak will be on 3rd April.
The Ramadan moon can be sighted “clearly” on the evening of 2nd April in the major cities of Pakistan.
Eid al-Fitr 2022
Eid al-Fitr meaning ‘Festival of Breaking the Fast’, is a significant occasion for the Muslims that follows the month of Ramadan. If there will be 30 Rozas (fasts) in Pakistan then the Eid-ul-Fitr 2022 will be on 2nd or 3rd May.
Muslims celebrate Eid for up to three days, Eid al-Fitr 2022 does not begin until the sighting of the Shawwal moon although is expected to start on Saturday 2nd April.
Zakat and Sadaqah Al-Fitr in 2022:
The Sadaqah Al Fitr is different from the annual payment of Zakat and Muslims have to pay it before the Eid-ul-Fitr Prayer.
This year the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in 2021 has fixed the Nisab for Zakat deduction on bank accounts at Rs. 46,329, for the current Islamic year. Under the Zakat and Ushr Ordinance 1980, no Zakat would be deducted in case a bank account has less than Rs.46,329.
The official statement issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will be posted regarding the Sadaqah Al Fitr in 2022 in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the amount of Sadaqah Al Fitr is not yet announced by the concerned authorities. Last year the Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman had declared that the minimum sadqa al fitar is Rs.100 and everyone needs to pay it according to his/her financial conditions.
From the last few years, the Sadaqah Al Fitr was as per wheat rate was Rs.100, Rs.400 for barley, Raisins rates were Rs.1600 per person.
Roza Fidiya was Rs.1200 as per barley rate and Rs.48,000 as per dates and Raisins rates.
Roza na rakhne ka Kaffara was to feed 60 poor people or to give Rs.6,000 for wheat, Rs. 24,400 for barley, Rs. 96,000 for dates and Rs. 1,53,600 for raisin.
Ramadan timings for government offices in Pakistan
The federal government will also announce the Ramadan timings for government offices. For the government offices working five days a week, the timings will likely be 08:00 am to 04:00 pm from Monday to Thursday whereas on Fridays, the office hours will likely be from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm.
On the other hand, The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued new timings for banks during Ramadan. Banks would observe the office hours from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with prayer breaks from 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm.
