As it was expected, social media went down in Pakistan once again due to the already-announced online activity of a political party in the country.
Social media has become unattainable across Pakistan. A large number of users have reported that the services of X (previously known as Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook are blocked in Pakistan. People across Pakistan cannot access all the social media platforms either through the web or the mobile app.
It is reported that social media platforms were blocked in Pakistan at nearly 7:00 PM, following the virtual event of the political party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman (PTI).
It is significant to mention here that the services of Twitter (X), Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook have gone down across the country. Still, in Pakistan, it is restricted due to the ongoing virtual event of PTI.
However, relevant authorities have not commented on the blockage of social media websites in Pakistan.
Internet monitor Netblocks has also confirmed that besides Twitter/X, the famous messaging platform and other social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube’s services are reportedly down for users in Pakistan due to the PTI second virtual gathering.
Some people have also reported that TikTok is not working in Pakistan too.
