Beat the Heat of Summer with Simple Tips

Beat the Heat of Summer in Ramadan with Simple Tips. Here are some very simple and easy to use tips to fight the summer heat in Ramadan.

Block the sun:

When the sun is at its peak and hottest outside, the curtains should be closed. The best way to deflect the heat is to have white curtains or blinds on your windows.

Putting up a moist sheet in an open window surprisingly helps to change the temperature inside of the house if the air outside the house seems to be dry but cool. Air coming in the house becomes pleasant and feels soothing.

Cooldown the hot air:

In case of dry hot weather, putting up a shallow bowl of ice in front of the fan rapidly changes the temperature inside. Vapors formed from the ice-cool the room instantly.

Don’t invite the heat inside the house:

If the temperature outside the house is higher than inside then keeping the doors and windows open means inviting the heat in. hence all sources for heat to come in the house should be closed.

Ventilate the house well:

If by any means the heat feels to be trapped inside the house, the best way to get rid of it is to use a ventilator ( most probably an exhaust fan), advisably at night. At that time outer air is cooler so blowing the hot air out would let the cool air come in.

Sprinkle cold water:

If the body feels hot even after all the care, the best way to shed off the heat is to spray cold on your body water using a spray bottle preferably starting from the wrists. It will immediately lower the body temperature (also keeping the blood pressure in control)

Dress right:

Wearing the right kind of dress also helps to keep the body temperature lower. Thick, dark and tight to the skin dress will make it uncomfortable. The most advised dressed for summers is thin, light in color and comfortably loose. The loose dress will let the sweat evaporate directly from skin to air.

Let your feet relax:

Sounds a bit weird but yes keeping your feet relax will make your whole body comfortable. Either make them sweat fast or keep them contentedly cool (might be by dipping them in chill water). If the feet are cooled by anyways (sweating or dipping in cold water) the skin of the feet and the blood inside the veins is also cooled down, which then flows to the rest of the body.

Beware of dehydration:

As the body sweats in hot season, our body loses moisture and if precautionary measures are not taken it just results in a dehydrated skin and body.

So the water level must be balanced at any cost. The more you sweat more you intake water. Avoiding all kind of dehydrating foods including sugar (which is mostly added in drinks to make them easy to intake) and adding the hydrating fruits and vegetables instead will also help a lot. Use More liquid or fluids to beat body temperature.
