Consumption of Coffee Reduces Type 2 Diabetes Risk

Food plays important role in diabetes. Anything which diabetic patients eat and drink directly affects blood glucose level. Most of the people have a habit to drink tea or coffee when they get up in the morning. A new study has shown that if people drink coffee in the morning they build immunity against having diabetes. Coffee contains caffeine and the consumption of it by young people does not raise blood sugar level.

Caffeine is in fact the drug found in coffee that can be unsafe if consumed in large quantity. Caffeine is a stimulant and can accelerate the central nervous system, but if people consume 400 milligrams of coffee per day its safe for their health. If a person drinks one cup per day over a 4-year period has 11 % lower risk for type 2 diabetes, found study.

The study has also found that if a person reduces his/her coffee consumption by more than one cup per day develops chances of having type-2 diabetes by 17 percent.

The findings are led by the Harvard School of Public Health.
